Everything you want to know.
A detailed guide to projectors, ordering and everything in between. If a question stays open, we'll answer it personally.
Projectors & Image Quality
What does „1080p Native” mean and why is it enough for home cinema?
„1080p Native” means the projector physically has 1920×1080 real pixels on its imaging chip and does not artificially upscale. This is the established Full-HD standard for streaming, Blu-ray, gaming and live TV — basically everything you watch at home.
For typical living-room projections up to about 130 inches and normal seating distances, 1080p Native is more than enough: the image looks sharp, contrast-rich and free of softness. Both the PIXORA One (up to 120 inches) and the PIXORA Max (up to 130 inches) work with true 1080p Native.
What does „Lumens” or „ANSI Lumens” tell you?
Lumens measure luminous flux and describe how brightly a projector can shine. The more lumens, the brighter the projected image. ANSI Lumens is a standardized ISO measurement — particularly meaningful and comparable.
Simply put: a well-darkened room only needs moderate brightness, while in daylight or bright rooms a significantly stronger projector makes more sense. The concrete recommendation is on each model's product page.
What does contrast ratio mean and how important is it?
The contrast ratio describes the difference between the brightest white and the darkest black pixel. High contrast produces deeper blacks, more image depth and livelier colors — particularly noticeable in films with dark scenes.
The figure varies a lot depending on measurement method, so a direct comparison between models isn't always clear-cut. As an orientation: the higher the value, the better the rendering of dark image content.
What is the difference between DLP, LCD and LED?
These terms describe different projection technologies:
- DLP (Digital Light Processing) uses a micromirror chip and delivers very sharp, contrast-rich images. In rare cases a slight rainbow effect can be perceived during fast scenes.
- LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) uses three liquid-crystal panels for vivid, natural colors without rainbow effect.
- LED refers to the light source — LED projectors are particularly long-lasting, energy-efficient and often very compact.
Each technology has its strengths. Which one suits you depends on the use case.
How loud are modern projectors during operation?
Projectors generate noise mainly via cooling and — for lamp-based models — via the ventilation system. Modern LED projectors generally run very quietly, while brighter models in eco mode often run noticeably more pleasantly than at full brightness.
The exact decibel values are listed on each product page. Sensitive viewers should look for models with a dedicated silent or eco mode.
How long does a projector typically last?
Lifespan depends primarily on the light source. LED and laser projectors generally reach very high operating hours, often well beyond classic lamp projectors. With lamp models, the lamp is a wear part and can be replaced.
Notes on expected lifespan are listed in the product data of each model — they always refer to the light source in eco mode.
Can I use a projector during the day?
In principle yes, but every projection loses brilliance under bright ambient light. In daylight, a high-brightness projector, a suitable projection surface (for example a gain screen or a special daylight screen) and as little direct light as possible are decisive.
For optimal image quality a darkened room remains the best solution — especially for film and series evenings.
Are your projectors suitable for gaming?
Many of our models are very well suited for gaming. The most important things are input lag (the delay between input and image output) and refresh rate. The lower the lag and the higher the frequency, the smoother and more direct gaming feels.
Product pages mark gaming-optimized models. If you're unsure, our team is happy to help.
What is HDR and do I need it?
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range and describes an extended brightness and color range. HDR-capable projectors render lights and shadows more differentiated and can deliver a particularly plastic, lively image with corresponding films, series or games.
HDR makes sense above all if your source (streaming, Blu-ray, console) also delivers HDR content and the room is well darkened.
What is the difference between Short Throw, Long Throw and Ultra Short Throw?
These terms describe how large the projected image becomes relative to the projection distance:
- Long Throw: classic projector, usually several meters from the wall.
- Short Throw: delivers a large image even from a short distance — ideal for smaller rooms.
- Ultra Short Throw: stands directly in front of the wall or below the screen, projecting a very large image upward.
The respective throw ratio is in each model's technical data.
What ports do your projectors offer?
That depends on the model. As a standard, most projectors have HDMI, USB and often an audio output. Many current models also offer Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and screen-mirroring functions for an uncomplicated connection with smartphone or tablet.
The complete list of ports is documented on each product page.
Can I run Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ directly on the projector?
Some projectors come with a built-in operating system and allow direct streaming. Other models pair excellently with a streaming stick, console or laptop.
What functions a particular model offers is in the product description. For questions about compatibility with your streaming solution, our team is happy to help.
Rooms & Setup
Which room is best suited for a projector?
In principle a projector works in almost any room. The decisive factors are a sufficiently large, even projection surface and the ability to control ambient light. A living room with curtains or a roller blind already offers good conditions. Bedrooms, hobby rooms or attics also work well as a home cinema.
How big should my room be at minimum?
There is no fixed minimum size. Modern Short-Throw and Ultra-Short-Throw models project surprisingly large images even in small rooms. With classic projectors the room should be at least as deep as the projection distance for the desired image size requires — corresponding values are on each product page.
Where do I place the projector best?
The classic options are:
- Free-standing on a table, shelf or sideboard — uncomplicated and flexible.
- Ceiling mount with a fitting bracket — particularly tidy, but with more installation effort.
- Rear projection behind a special screen — rarer, but exciting for special setups.
Important: the projector should be aligned as horizontally as possible to the projection surface — keystone correction or not.
What is keystone correction and do I need it?
If a projector is set up at an angle to the wall, the image distorts into a trapezoid. Keystone correction digitally corrects this trapezoid back into a rectangle. It's helpful when the projector cannot be aligned perfectly — but with strong correction it has a slight effect on image sharpness.
A central, straight setup is always ideal.
Do I need a ceiling mount?
A ceiling mount is not strictly necessary, but has advantages: the projector is out of the way, cables can be laid cleanly and the projection isn't interrupted by people walking by. Alternatively any sturdy table or wall shelf works just as well.
Suitable ceiling mounts are in our accessory category.
How far should the seating distance be from the image?
As rough orientation a seating distance of about 1.2 to 2 times the image width applies. The closer you sit, the more immersive the image — but with low resolution individual pixels also become visible. With Full HD on 100 inches a distance of around 2.5 to 3 meters is very comfortable.
Can I also use the projector outdoors in the garden?
Yes, for warm summer evenings open-air cinema is a wonderful experience. The most important factor is darkness — i.e. projection after sunset — plus a dry, wind-protected location. A mobile screen or a smooth house wall serves as the projection surface.
The projector should never be exposed to permanent moisture.
Screens & Projection
Do I really need a screen, or is the wall enough?
A smooth, white or slightly grey, matte wall can work well as a projection surface — especially in a darkened room. A dedicated screen brings noticeable advantages, however: deeper blacks, more contrast, more vibrant colors and a uniformly sharp image.
Anyone who watches films regularly usually invests gladly in a screen — it's probably the biggest quality jump for a manageable price.
What types of screens are there?
The most common designs are:
- Roll-up / motorized screen: can be deployed electrically or manually as needed and stowed away.
- Frame screen: fixed installation, perfectly flat, particularly high-end look.
- Mobile tripod screen: flexible to set up and take down, ideal for the garden or changing rooms.
- Tension screen: lateral tension keeps it absolutely flat — demanding image quality.
The right variant depends on use case and room.
What does the gain value of a screen mean?
The gain value (also „reflection factor”) indicates how much light a screen reflects compared to a reference surface. A value of 1.0 corresponds to the reference. Values above reflect more light, appear brighter — but have a narrower viewing angle. Values below absorb a bit of brightness but offer a wider, more uniform side angle.
What aspect ratio should my screen have?
The most common format is 16:9 — fitting for television, streaming, gaming and most current films. Cinema fans often also appreciate 21:9, which corresponds to the classic Cinemascope format and shows films without black bars.
For universal use 16:9 is the most uncomplicated choice.
How big should the screen be?
That depends on room size and seating distance. A 100-inch screen (about 2.2 m wide) already looks impressive in a normal living room. With more space you can also go to 120 inches or larger — important is that the seating distance fits the format.
Product pages show the dimensions in inches and centimeters.
Can I install a screen myself?
Yes, most screens can be mounted on the wall or ceiling with standard tools and the included instructions. For roll-up and frame models a second person is often helpful. For special formats or built-in situations it can make sense to bring in a professional.
Sound & Audio
Are the built-in speakers of a projector enough?
For presentations, news or occasional series viewing, the integrated speakers in many models deliver decent sound. But anyone seeking real cinema feeling clearly benefits from an external audio solution — be it a soundbar, a 2.1 setup or a complete home cinema system.
The image alone does not make cinema — the sound contributes at least as much to the atmosphere.
How do I connect a soundbar or speakers to the projector?
Depending on the model, several options are available: via HDMI (with ARC function), via the analog audio output, via optical digital cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth. Which variants your projector supports is in the technical data on the product page.
Do your projectors support Bluetooth speakers?
Many current models have Bluetooth and can be wirelessly paired with compatible speakers or headphones — particularly practical for situations where others should not be disturbed.
Whether a particular model offers Bluetooth is noted on the product page.
Do you also offer audio solutions?
Yes. Our Sound category contains a carefully curated selection — from compact soundbars through surround solutions to active speaker systems. All products are selected to combine well with our projectors.
Is there noticeable lag between picture and sound (lip-sync)?
Modern projectors and audio devices are usually so well matched that delay isn't perceptible. Should a slight offset occur after all, most receivers, soundbars and projectors offer an audio-delay setting to fine-tune image and sound.
Accessories & Cables
Which accessories are really worth it?
The biggest quality jumps usually come from a good screen and a darkened room — followed by a fitting audio solution. High-quality cables, a stable mount and a projector bag for mobile use are also among the frequently recommended additions.
What cables do I need for the projector?
As a standard a high-quality HDMI cable is enough for the connection with streaming stick, laptop, console or Blu-ray player. For longer cable runs — for example with ceiling mounting — certified premium cables are recommended that can also stably transmit high resolutions.
Is there a remote and an app?
Every projector comes with a fitting remote control. Many current models additionally offer control via app or can be integrated into existing smart-home ecosystems — details are in each product description.
Do you also offer streaming sticks or media players?
Our focus lies on projectors and direct accessories. For streaming sticks, consoles or media players we recommend specialist retailers — most devices connect uncomplicatedly with our projectors.
Can I order projector and accessories in one order?
Yes, all products can be combined in one shopping cart. Shipping is usually bundled, provided all items are promptly available. With larger orders, shipping may take place in several packages — you'll then receive corresponding multiple tracking numbers.

Payment & Security
Which payment methods are offered?
At checkout all common payment methods are available — including credit card, PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay, Google Pay and instant bank transfer. Which variants are actually shown also depends on the chosen delivery country.
Is the payment process secure?
The entire checkout runs via an encrypted, certified connection. Payment data is processed exclusively by the respective payment providers — we ourselves never store or see credit card or banking details.
Providers like PayPal and Klarna additionally offer their own buyer protection.
Can I pay in installments?
Via Klarna an installment plan is available at checkout. The exact conditions — like duration and monthly rate — are shown to you transparently when you select the payment method.
Can I buy on invoice?
Yes. Via Klarna invoice you can first receive the goods and then pay comfortably by transfer. Klarna automatically checks availability and conditions at checkout.
When will my account be charged?
That depends on the chosen payment method. With credit card, PayPal and instant payments the charge happens immediately after order completion. With Klarna invoice you only pay after receiving the goods within the specified period.
Which currency is used?
All prices are shown in Euro by default. Depending on the payment service provider, the amount may ultimately be billed in your local currency — your payment provider or bank automatically handles the conversion at the current exchange rate.
Returns & Withdrawal
How long do I have to withdraw an order?
The statutory right of withdrawal applies to consumers. Within this period you can withdraw your order without giving reasons. The exact deadlines and conditions are in our withdrawal policy.
How do I concretely initiate a return?
Just write us a brief message via the contact form with your order number and a note that you want to return an item. We'll confirm the withdrawal and send you all necessary return information.
Does the original packaging have to come back?
Ideally yes — the original packaging offers the best protection during return shipping. If it's no longer fully available, please send the goods back carefully and securely packaged, so nothing is damaged.
Who bears the return shipping costs?
The details on return costs are in our withdrawal policy. For complaints due to defects, we naturally cover the costs — regardless of how long ago the order was placed.
When do I get my money back?
As soon as the return has reached us and been inspected, we refund the purchase amount via the originally used payment method. Depending on the bank or payment provider, it can take a few business days for the money to show up in your account.
Can I return only part of an item?
Yes, of course. You can return individual items from an order and keep others. Just tell us which items you want to withdraw, and we'll handle the corresponding partial refund.
Warranty
What is the difference between statutory warranty and manufacturer warranty?
The statutory warranty is legally required and protects you from defects already present at handover. The point of contact is always the seller — that is, us. A manufacturer warranty, on the other hand, is a voluntary commitment from the manufacturer that can go beyond legal rights.
In our shop you have the full legal rights in any case.
What do I do if my device doesn't work?
Contact us with as precise a description of the problem as possible and your order number via our contact form. Often smaller things can be clarified directly. If not, we'll initiate the next steps together — depending on the situation through repair, replacement or reversal.
What is not covered by the warranty?
Generally not covered are damage caused by improper use, accident, negligent handling or natural wear and tear. Modification-related defects also lie outside the claim.
Do I need to keep the receipt?
Ideally yes — the invoice serves as proof of purchase. If you don't have it on hand, we can usually still find your order via the data stored in our system.
How long can I claim defects?
The statutory periods of the country to which you delivered apply. Complete information on warranty claims is in our Terms of Service.
